Our investment approach
Our investment process
Our investment process is detailed and specific:
IdeaAny ARP team member is able to make an investment proposal and we encourage everyone to think broadly. An idea is usually 'owned' by a research analyst.
AnalysisThe analyst will present an outline of the investment strategy to the ARP Investment Committee (IC). Assuming the IC approve the idea, more in-depth qualitative research is carried out.
Portfolio constructionSimultaneously quantitative research is carried out to ensure that the risk/return/correlation characteristics of the strategy are likely to add value to the wider portfolio.
Due diligenceInvestment and operational due diligence is undertaken by different analysts. Each will make separate onsite visits and report back to the IC. Legal due diligence and background checks are outsourced to specialist firms.
Approval and documentationThe due diligence reports are compiled and presented to the IC. Subject to approval, the fund is added to our Recommended List.
Ongoing monitoringAn analyst is assigned to each fund we invest in. All managers are spoken with at least quarterly and many much more frequently than this. All managers are visited onsite at least annually.
